Family Reunion Ideas

Is your family having a reunion over the Thanksgiving holiday?

My family went to one this summer and used the website www.myheritage.com.

Every family member can be invited to participate and add their own photos. You can also elect to get monthly reminders of birthdays and anniversaries.

Create a keepsake by printing out the family tree and old photos. We treasure ours and love to look at old family photos.

Instead of T-shirts, which nobody will ever wear again, try ordering silicone bracelets in a variety of colors.

You can create a color for each branch. For example red can be for 1st cousins, green for 2nd cousins, etc. That way everyone you don”t already know is easily recognizable.

A fun way to decorate the tables is to string a cotton rope from one candlestick to another. Attach photos from past and present with a mini clothespin. Ask family members to send photos to you or post them on a site. You can easily print them up for all to enjoy can collect.

Last, create a family tree.  I painted it on a board freehand and used colored inkpads for people to stamp their thumbprint. Use an artist pen or a micro fine scrapbooking pen to write the names.

Here are a few ideas as you to that reunion, or even over the river and through the woods to grandmother”s house for Thanksgiving…
